Federal Equipment Nominated for 2011 Autodesk Inventor of the Year Honor
Advanced Solutions recognized as key to successful software adoption
CINCINNATI, Ohio - February 8, 2012:
Federal Equipment, a supplier of specialized military replacement parts previously named the April 2011 Autodesk Inventor of the Month, is also a candidate for 2011 Autodesk Inventor of the Year. The Advanced Solutions customer used Autodesk software to design an advanced elevator system for the U.S. Navy.
The innovative elevator design enables efficient transport of munitions onboard new aircraft carriers. Federal utilized dynamic design analysis method (DDAM) testing in Autodesk Simulation Multiphysics before it performed live tests which cost $400,000 each. With the use of Autodesk Digital Prototyping software including Autodesk Inventor Professional, the company was able to quickly identify and correct potential problems, cutting down on costs and project completion time.
In an Autodesk customer success story featuring the elevator design, Shawn Thompson, mechanical engineer for Federal noted, "Advanced Solutions has helped Federal pave the way to innovation. I've worked with a number of different software vendors and Advanced Solutions has been wonderful, especially compared to others."
Voting for Autodesk 2011 Inventor of the Year closes on February 29, 2012 at 5 p.m. PST. Online ballots can be cast at http://autode.sk/xyNuTZ.
